Just a few update of the app (those are versions that we showed on Poster Section on Wed 9-10).  Be ready, Rob the Robot is going to rock the Appstore (just kidding, the future of the app is still unknown to us the developers) :-( .
 Version 0.2 is the stable version. As promised, in this version, we implement a new game that makes kids follow a certain sequence of iPad gestures (like swiping and tapping).

The sample episode is now optimized to run smoothly and stably on iPad1 J which costs us lots of time.
All modules now support background music and designer can pretty easily customize the music and the volume.
Based on the feedback, we did make quite a lot of modification, especially the storybook scene where the transition effect is not fading not sliding, a new repeat button is added, color of subtitle and the subtitle box are changed, new options to mute the background music or the voice …. The 2 simple games from previous version are said to lack of instruction so we decided to and more audio/text cues. A new module is also added to the framework that can be the ending scene for an episode.






Ver 0.3 beta features the episode update system.It is not yet stable and cost a lost of resource (due to iOS’ coredata and the client-server communication). However, you can still run it on iPad2. The system has a few advance features : real-time update of episode list, user can downloading one episode while playing another, the server supports partial download.

With this new version of the app, we can prove that the process of content management does not requires any programming knowlegle. We can design a total new episode by writing some text files according to a pre-defined format and zip them up along with other resource (videos, sounds, photos) and upload it to the server, user can then download it to their iPad and play.
